Here I am, can't decide which route to go...Z87 or AMD As much as I understand that AMD might be better in some cases, I still believe Intel will be better overall, I dont know why Thank you all for your advice guys, very much appreciated Will have to decide which setup to order and start building the machine.
Well you're not wrong. Intel CPUs consume less power and blow AMD out of the water when it comes to core-to-core performance. Overall, the Intel CPU will perform better in more scenarios than the AMD. Since you're not using your computer solely for CAD work, but will be mixing in gaming and general use as well, you're not gonna go wrong with an Intel setup.
