its cool, but useless. the reason we have a folders system is to easily navigate through documents, i dont want to go through the same hassle of searching through 'piles' to get to the document i want....its like trying to find an important letter in a mess of paper on your desk.
Looks great, but imagine you have 500 excel files and you want to find one specific file, NOOOOOOOOOOOO
It'd be cool as photo management software though, if they used bigger images rather than those little squares. ch424
I have a really really messy room, and I like it that way since it's so much easier to find stuff that way, however for the same reason I like my neat folder-organized desktop on my computer, and I think this idea of tossing icons around seems kinda gimmicky. The manipulation of the icons also seems waaaay too complex for what you're going to be doing with it, namely replacing your desktop, which I personally almost never use. Some things like the crumpling icons technique is pretty useless too...yea to sum it up, pretty pointless/bloated... Btw, anyone else notice how he keeps pronouncing lasso "lassoo?"
Whist yet useless, as of yet, but perhaps when a greater amount of functionality and apps are brought into the system and the design as well as the uses and preformance is enahanced and tweeked. It would be a great beta when and if it was relased but i would just play with it and not use it a desktop replacement, until the novilty had worn off... Also its only rerally usful with a tablet or UMPC with a touch screen or desktop equipped with a Wacom pad etc...
Looks like fun, but really wouldn't want it. It does have some fun idea's, but at this stage its not an improvement on the current way of working. L
Not bad, but it's like keeping everything on your desktop - it may be handy, but it's going to get unwieldy after a while. - H.
if it could be encorporated into the current folder system and made more intuitive then i can see this working well. As it is, it looks more like a gimmik than anything else.
i think some people have gotten the wrong idea slightly... this isn't the way you will store all your files, and i am guessing you will still have the standard file structure. This is just the desktop. and imo, its a great idea, I use my desktop as a storage for current files that i am working on. I would definately like this as a nice fun and easy way to organise and move my files arround.
