I was wondering if the onboard sound on my ECS KT600 motherboard was capable of 3D sound in games. The thing that has me confused is that the games that i have that support 3D / directional sound rely upon EAX, and can my onboard sound card output that via the spdif port. And can i buy a cheap home theatre system to use as computer speakers and use the spdif input on it. Now would the EAX work through the spdif, and is there any software to give support for EAX if my system doesnt have it. My audio codec is a Realtek ALC 655, and my southbridge is a 8237. Thanks in advance Nick
Itll support a very basic EAX although EAX is overhyped pap imo. I suspect youll only be able to output stereo via spdif too.
