today i got bored so i whipped out the old GeForce2 and started modding. first to go was that stupid heatsink (which is about 3mm thick!). so i whipped on a Copper northbridge heatsink from an old KT400 board.
put that on with some heatpaste which i never used from my Aero7, and we're ready to rock. then screwed on a 40mm fan that was looking all to innocent in my little box of goodies :p

ran 3dmark03 (even though it only does 1 test on this card LOL)

    at stock (200/166)
    160 3dmarks LOL! :hehe:

    overclocked (265/205)
    210 3dmarks hehe

so there you have it :) not a bad improvement eh? :naughty:

Don't you have to buy 3dmark03 to be able to post results?

Anyways my score right now is around 700...

Soon it will be hopefully 5000-6000
I just ordered a comp yesterday (parts actually):

2500+ Barton core (will oc to 3200+)
    2x 256MB Geil PC3200 Cas: 2
    Abit NF7 mobo

And last but not least: An eVGA 5900SE, which can be OC'ed a bit to run almost as good as a 5950U :)
I'll be running this with some hardware I currently have: Maxtor 80gb 7200rpm 8mb cache ata133, CD-ROM, CD-RW, and floppy from this comp

So, get ready boys ;) lol kiddin, I know I won't push more than 6000

    Specs:

    2500+ Barton core(stock speeds)
    Abit NF7 Mobo
    2x Geil 256MB PC3200 with stock timings: cas:2 5-3-3 :) (running in dual channel)
    80GB Maxtor 7200rpm 8mb cache ata133 drive
    eVGA 5900SE Running stock (400/700mhz)

    3dmark03 Score: 4950 or so

I might try to clock things up a bit tonight... But I am pretty damn satisfied with this system, it is great(I just got it / put it together yesterday)

THIS 5900SE is awesome! It reads 5900 bios, not 5900se :) I can run just about any game cranked to the max at 1280x1024 (except halo, because that is just a difficult game to satisfy) with a liquid smooth framerate!

if you find that your 5900 clocks particularly well, like to mid400s core and 900 memory try to update the bios to a 5950
it gives the the core voltage a little bump up to around 1.55v in 3D mode, got my max core overclock all the way from 466 to 575

Lol I'm pretty satisfed with it's performance and I'm really not going for the max score I can get :p

Anyways, how do you view your video card temps? (I've tried rivatuner but it doesn't seem that there is any temperature monitoring in it)
