    well maybe not the cpu, but yeah theres definately a bottleneck there. Whats the rest of your system like ram, hdd ??

    1gb ddr333, 40gb WD HDD, Aopen mx4sgi-n Mobo, ive tried it on my old msi pt8-neo (B4 it went kabooom) with my cpu clocked to 3.2 and i only got about a 300 point increase in 3dm05. could it be the motherboards? as they were both 'budget' boards costing around 50 pounds as i blew all my cash on the 6800

    Mananged these scores with the comp in my signiture and my 6800 running as a quatro 4000 @ 424/1100. No clocking has been done with the CPU.

    What card have you got exactly? Is it overclocked? Mine's running on a 3200+ XP so you should have a much nicer score if it's clocked and flashed to quadro.

    :rock: just got 6650~ (froze pretty much straight after.. overheating southbridge at high FSB, need to heatsink it :eek:) on:
    1800+ @ 8.5*247 = 2100mhz
    9800pro @ 430/390

    and we have a 3dMark2005 thread here this is the 3dmark2003 thread..

    Sure you can mate. Overclocking only needs coolbits active (google it and follow second link to make it work). Click autodetect and you'll get a nice boost to your scores :)

    There's no risk of failure and you can use rivatuner to flash it to a matrox quadro series which I've had no problems with on a total of 3 cards (FX5900XT, 6800 & 6800 GT). It opens up pipelines and many times out of ten they're stable and work, increasing your score almost as much as the overclock will. If it doesn't, hold control when rebooting into windows and it defaults back to standard settings. Boosted my 5900XT from 4000 to 5100 with these techniques.

    Not bad mate :)

    You get a nice boost if you can successfully unlock 4 texture and a vertex shader with a sweet OC :)
