So I've been on the fence about getting a 3D printer and/or CNC for a long while now and having received a bit of money from my grandparents when they passed away, they wouldn't want me using it to pay bills etc so I've decided to get a 3D printer to help with a few ideas I've got.

First on the list is to help with the cooling on my NAS and my first part is a 92mm to 120mm fan adapter which is offset and the 'tunnel' shaped to allow access to SATA cables etc. I've fired up fusion 360 and come up with this which I think should do the trick but I don't know how thick things need to be for 3D printing to be strong enough while keeping the print time reasonable and reducing consumable use. Initial thought are PLA?

The main thing I'm not sure on it how thick I need to make the walls of the tunnel to be strong enough. As part which will only be holding a 120mm fan at one end, I'm not sure if my initial 3mm is overkill. I also made the wall which will be mounted to the SAS backplane 5mm to give it some meat for a screw to attach so I think if I only increase the size around the screen holes, I'd be reducing my overall printing to speed things up.

Any comments and suggestions very welcome.

EDIT - thought I better mention its a Ender 3 S1 Pro I've gone for.
