When looking at the project details for my machine I have noticed that it's recognising my XP-M as a Duron - also it only recognises the speed and fsb pre 8rda.

It's not letting me publish due to 'detected CPU speed variation' I have read that this is due to problems detecting the CPU speed but mine isn't recognising CPU type.

Is it 8rda that's at fault or is it just system instability?

    Thanks in advance.

CPU speed variation is to a change in CPU speed during the run, this could be caused by instability could try dropping the FSB 1 or 2 or giving a little more voltage.
As for 8rda try loading /setting teh FSB then loading 3dmark, but IIRC windows logs the boot FSB and i'm not sure if it updates as the FSB changes.....

Mine shows up as a Duron also, so dont worry too much about that.

CPU speed variation is down to stability issues.
