Thats a bit low mate...though a bit of tweaking plus the latest drivers will give you a heck of a boost. Heres the best I've managed (12081), with the fsb at 144, using the 40.41 detonators and the card overclocked to 340/730 See Here 3dmark loves a high fsb and memory speeds, I might be able to push higher but without any memory voltage adjustment I might struggle to get higher than perhaps 150. Also the higher you can overclock your cards core the better with the Gf4....
Best I've done was 7521. However, since I'm on an SDR system with a GF3 Ti200, that's not at all bad in my book. That was quite a while ago, with 27.70 drivers too.
i'll post when i get rid of my gf2mx! and i get hold of 3dmark 2001! my radeon 9000pro on its way, and im gonna clock the beatch
Drastik- sounds a little low... although depends on the GF2MX I could coax 3000 from mine, on a Duron 800@1035, but that was with heavy overclocking on a 32MB MX
drastik's score seems average, lookin at the other scores on there the highest 1.4tbird and gf2 MX400 i could find was just under 4000, but im guessing that is with a heavily clocked card
Look in my sig, that is the best I have gotten so far. My FSB is at 166. Need to get me a new XP chip. EDIT: d'oh, forgot about the whole project dolphin thingy, anyways, thats an athlon 1.2 at 1.414 and a gf4 ti4400
Well ive managed to get 8274 - dont know if I can get much more out of the proc though. That is the 9th highest score on madonion for a prcessor of 1Ghz or less with any GPU/Proc/OS etc Link in sig
Will that score is awesome. Tell me what kind of drivers I can get, I only have the 30.82 Detonator drivers...well I don't really cause I get an error trying to install them. Where can I get the latest. Then how can I tweak...the highest FSB I can get is 140 then above that I get a blue screen on bootup. Last question...why can I only get my video card at 302mhz core...if it's above that it freezes on startup. How the heck did you get it to 340!?
Okay never mind about the 302 mhz core...I got it to 315 with no probs. I haven't tried it higher yet because I don't know when it's overheating. What is a sign of the core getting too hot?...does it freeze?...does it give a warning or something?...or does it just fry? There has been nothing unusual with it at 315...I should be able to get it higher.
j'won, my score was with the latest 40.41 detonator drivers available from the Nvidia website. These are the first of the 'detonator 5' series, and so are for some people slightly glitchy in games, but performance increases significantly for games and benchmarks where the pixel shaders are used, notice how high the nature demo fps is for my score. IMPORTANT: Uninstall the old drivers totally before installing the new 40.41s, they are coded in a significantly different way (using the new CDA code or something) that means installing them over the top of older non-CDA drivers causes problems. Remove the old ones using add/remove programs, then install the newest 40.41s. This should add up to a thousand points onto your score. How can i overclock the card so far? 120mm side blowhole over the AGP slot does help its the most effective card cooling you'll ever do. This keeps the card cold to the touch, and with the Leadteks huge heatsink the more airflow over it the better. 340/730 was without any artifacts that show the card is being pushed so far...haven't tried any further though! The higher the core clock on the Gf4 the better it performs. If you overclock the memory to far you will see artifacts, white flashes along the edge of textures, or tearing (where the textures are ripped and distorted). If you see this, back off the memory clock 5Mhz or so, before it does damage (which will occur over time if you push it too far). If you overclock the core to far you'll get lock-ups, or geometry errors where the corners of polygons in the benchmark dont meet properly. In which case, back off the core clock by 5-10Mhz until its stable again. Push your fsb as far as it'll go, as 3dmark loves that. Be aware that with FSBs over 170 your Gf4 will start to feel the effects of the AGP being so far out of spec, which can damage your card long term. I'm limited to fsbs of 150 or less due to lack of memory voltage adjustment, and as this board will only do synchronous fsb and memory I'm limited to that. You'll most probably need to take your memory voltage higher to get a decent fsb, 140 does seem a little low though (sure you're not using the 4:5 ration for fsb:memory speeds?) All the usual tweaks for VIA chipsets apply mind, latest VIA AGP driver etc.....check 4x AGP is enabled and the AGP driver is installed in the Turbo mode. Hope this helps
Bah! I get 0, well 0 in my opinion. damn card wont go further than the gothic-test-thing . useless Gateway junk.
