Does anyone have a connection with this company? Or know anyone with a connection with it?

I'm asking because I'm interested in maybe getting hold of a set of armour for my motorbike suit project but I can't find the armour for sale on it's own anywhere. I thought before I emailed them direct I'd see if anyone had dealt with them before as it might make them more inclined to help me.

I've posted this in general so hopefully more people will see it, I won't bump this thread and if a mod thinks it needs to go please delete it.

    Thanks

What armour in particular? From looking at their site they do all sorts.

The type 5 armour, I suspect that you're referring to products that other companies make that use their armour. I only want the armour itself, which, as far as I can tell, nobody sells.

The problem with 3do, is that is formed via injection moulding, so they produce it for other companies which invest in the tooling.

You can get small sheets of it, but it not all that easy to flex into the shapes your want as it wants to revert to a flat, which would make the suit a tad unflexible.

I can see why your interested in it for your suit though

What I gather from their site is that they produce a small range of armour themselves that other companies then include in their products but that they will also produce a custom piece for you if you want/can pay for it.

That page seems to show three different types of armour that they themselves make. Elsewhere on the site they talk about co-operative product development for high quantities.

    Apologies in advance...

    "they're new"

    !grammar nazi

It makes sense for them to produce a couple of standard items to get their product accepted and well known which should entice larger manufacturers to request custom pieces.

Oops, so it is, my mind keeps saying 3do since I'm used to saying 3d.
