    Found this on Ebay

It's a 4.5" LCD screen that runs off 12v. Take a look at the wiring harness and see what you think. It says it has 4 wires:

    red - 12v
    grey - ground
    white - video signal (?)
    black - video shield/ground.

Does that mean I could just splice a yellow video cable into it or is it much more complicated than that.... Also, would you consider this a good deal?

I wouldnt like to guarentee anything but if i had to take a guess then that is what i would say. If the video signal is supplied down a single cable it must be a composite signal of some sort. More than that its not possible to say without the datasheet.

If its cheap enough id take the risk.

Yup, standard NTSC video signal. Just take your yellow phono plug, tip goes to white, ring goes to black. Simple as that and an amazing bargain!

Another source for these small screens/tvs is from the old "video player in a bag" that were used in cars before DVDs. Cheap at charity stores and garage sales. 12 volts, 1 composite input but some of them actally had decent picture resolution.

Hey buddy, nobody wants to see your crazy homemade sex-doll with built in porn screen.

    but lol.

After looking at these LCDs I now super want one. They're so cheap I can't not get one...

They work well for me in mini-itx systems with TV composite out. They use very little power so the mini-itx can use a PICO power supply with a wall wart. Try one. I think it will do what you want. Mine aren't tft but for video playback they work good.

In the picture is "Day After Tomorrow" from the mini-itx. "To Manchester United"
The cord is to the wall wart.

I think this was for me. The LCD in my 1 of 1 Borg "lady's" stomach is showing The Day After Tomorrow from the internal mini-ITX hard drive, and the TV has Independence Day - with Will. DirectTV with close captioning on - I have a strange schedule.
Always something on to listen to while I play.

So how come these are so expensive the rest of the time :\ I'd like to get hold of a PAL version of these for a mini-itx but they seem to cost as much as the motherboard+cpu+ram combined :S
Anyone know a of supar sekret source of these puppies in the UK?

I've got one now (you can see it in my project log) and it works great. It also has picture/brightness/color adjustment on it. Very nice for the price I paid for it.

Thanks for the link, I'm bidding on one now. Should be a nice addition to an HTPC I'll be building in a couple months.

You can see that my hands were pretty shaky, but the ltiile yellow round dials change the color, brightness, tint, and the r/g/b values. You adjust them with a screwdriver.

really nice, you shouldn't have a problem reading it at all. I spent a total of $30 shipped for this thing and you can't beat that with a stick.

It looks kind of thick, though. *Shrug*

I might bid for two, or just get them via BIN. Is it hard to connect? I know it's 12V, but how do you have the signal connected? Composite, right?
