This is my first mod ever.
    Everrr.
    And I'm pretty excited.
Though I'm kinda nervous cause if I mess something up on the case it's not replaceable Since I got the case nearly 10 years ago I think.
I'm going to be putting ( most likely ) ZOTAC's IONITX-A-U in it and watercooling it.

    -Concept now null-

I've only got three layers of primer on the top panel done so far.*
*at the time of the first post.

There's a concept for the watercooling.
I'm thinking about 'embedding' a Koolance CHC-25-L06 into the stock heatsink.
I got the Idea from Prometheus cu
Also I've got some masking done on the case.
But I forgot to sand/scratch it before I started taping everything up. Again.

My cutting tool is a scalpel blade. I don't have a handle. :(

And if anyone's interested Here's a video of my horrible technique.

I determined that I don't like the red of the RAM I have laying around and decided to try painting it.
    Taped up.
Painted with flat black high-heat paint.
Still some areas I need to touch up.
    Detail on the A-DATA logo.
More taping on the case, I'm taking forever with this. I need to work faster.
A shot of the side that was painted earlier.

But for now I'm kind of stuck until I get another sharp utensil since I lost my scalpel blade.
It was on my table when I left for the weekend, and when I got back it was gone.

Nice! I've got the same exact case lying around. Took out one of the dividers and put the psp in it a few years ago. Hasn't really been touched since. Glad to see someone trying something creative with it.

With all the tape removed from the RAM, it looks quite nice.

I know I missed a few spots, but it's my first time painting something with details like that, and I cut into the RAMsinks on accident when I was cutting the tape details.
I think I did pretty well though.
Note: the worst parts would be facing each other, and therefore not showing to the world.

I'm still slowly, and I emphasize slowly, taping up the case.
I'm down to the little bits and pieces.
Just a few edges, the feet, two or three corners, and the latches.

Also, once I get the first post there is going to be a poll for the color.
    I can't choose, so I need help.

Next time, try applying a thin film of vasoline on the A-Data logo before you paint. after the paint is dry a cloth would remove the vaso and paint from the letters leaving them all shiney and pretty :)

    Thanks for the tip.
I was initially intent on having the logo shiny, but the black is growing on me.
Though now that I think about it it might look slick if I cleaned off the A-Data logo.
I should try on a 'in' side.

he just take the clips off the ram and the heatsinks are held in by a little doublesided tape. soon and you take the clips off just slowly pull the heatsink off. i think that way you can get a better detail without worrying about getting it on the actual ram

Okay, I just tried clearing off the paint from the A-data logo.
    It worked pretty well.

A spoon with 320-ish grit sandpaper taped on to the handle.

I really like the dark lines in the grooves.
It reminds me of Lining a Gundam model.

the all black look is definately more stealthy, shiney writing might stand out a bit too much depending on the look you are going for. good work using high temp paint :thumb:

*edit* i guess shiney works then haha
