4pin floppy removal

    How do you guys remove those damed pins, there so tiny and..pin like. I tried using a needle but I can't get it, anyone got a trick they know?

    ok there should be an exposed bit on the connector.get a knife and use the tip to push down as hard as you can at the bit nearest to the end of the connector. Gimme 5 mins and il get a photo

    Near the end by the wires, I assumed it was a reverse barb, like on the big 4pin ones, I tied pushing down but was getting know where, I'll get my knife out.

    You have to make sure you are pushing down on the bit nearest to the end.

    Yeah, thanks again, I still don't know how to remove the types of pins on the power type plugs, for the mobo that is, I got a uv set of molex's thats why I'm asking, the 20pin plug has no little inlets to push, I don't suppose you know how to get those out as well? :baby:

    ok here goes,

    1)get a staple (ive found the thinner ones are better)
    2) bend it so thats its in a shape like a U
    3)Make it so it just about fits inbetween the outside of the pin and the plastic connector on both sides of the pin at once. Each pin has two tabs that when the connector is layed horizontal is parallel to the long edge of the connector. You should be able to see these tabs anyway if you look closely.
    4)Wiggle it about :baby: while lightly tugging on the cable.

    Ok I'll give that a go, thanks, thats a really jankey solution lol, too bad they don't make them like molex so you can use that tool or something, oh well. :)

    ah, damn it lol, of the 2 tools I could have chosen, why oh why couldn't I have gotten that one. :wallbash:

    I tried a staple, wouldn't fit in both sides at once, so..oh well lol, I'll think of something. :rolleyes:
