The 4pin on the mobo is suppose to be for intel, right? but....how comes i have that connector plugged into my VNF-250 zenith value? Secondly...why Venice core released if dual-core is only so far away? Kye
The 4-pin 12v used to only be for Intel back in the early days of the P4, as it required more and cleaner power than the ATX socket to provide. But it has been a requirement for AMD processors since the Athlon XP started to scale in speed and therefore power requirement. The Venice and San Diego cores are being introduced as very few current programs are multithreaded, so the higher clockspeeds of the Venices/San Diegos give them an advantage over dual core CPUs for a while at least.
