I (and most of my coworkers, friends, and family) are using the Logitech X-530 5.1 setup, and I think I paid about 54 for them.

NEVER buy Creative speakers, they sound like a dog licking himself played through a tin can attached to an iPod. They're that bad. I have a set of 2.1 by them and every time I listen to them they suck worse...

How is the sub-woofer with the Logitech X-530 5.1? The reason I ask is because these speakers will be used...for lack of a better word...to show off. Im going to host a computer workshop for kids and I want stuff to get them interested in computers. They wont care about processor speeds or SLI, but stuff like loud bassy (its a word...why shouldnt it be :worried:) music will get their attention...so thats what these are for.

I can hear mine a quarter mile away at the mailbox if I have all the doors to the house shut.

i can confirm, they are mighty speakers for the money. i am listening to the 2.1 version right now and can really fault them. i liked them that much i recommended my m8 got the 530s for the pc i was building him and they are incredibly loud, a good demonstration piece, ask the kids to put their hand infront of the bass port when its turned up

I have the same Logitech X-530s; not only do they make things shake if you want them, they are also good for just listening and not just boasting about the uber bass ;)

    Logitech X-530

i went from a cheap 5.1 speakers (15 watts total) to logitech x-530 (140 watts total)

i spend around $80 Canadian during that time (dumb me, other places were selling for like $60)

i saw the other speaker "Logitech Z-5500" which has total of 505watts but at the price of $400+ which was too much for me

i came home not knowing how good it is until i turned on some trance, WOW, the bass was so clear even if you turn the nob all the way (it's on the back of the subwoofer) and the sound... just amazinly CLEAR and CRISP... i am so glad i spend the little money for a nice speaker

my neighbor doesn't really like it because now i have better computer speakers than them LOL

Altec Lansing make some tasty speakers.

Well mine are tasty, and extremely loud.

    Also consider cambridge soundworks ;)

Well after hearing all those good things about the logitech x-530 5.1 I'm pretty much settled on them. At that price I might have to get 2 sets and hook um both up (can anyone say 10.2 :D)
