I need a small PSU for a small PC +5V 7A +12V 0.7A -12V 0.1A Any idea where I could find one on the cheap?
star882 is probably refering to an ATX power supply, you might even have one lieing about in ur house. Just turn them on (green wire to ground) and you've got a +-12v -+5v. The old AT one is perfect, +5 -+12v.
I do have one or two PSUs about..... However what I have is a few very SFF machines, but rather fewer PSUs, and those I have are making alarming ticking noises! I could get a http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=10#p1802 but I don't need the whole ATX supply and wondered if I could get anything a bit cheaper to do the job.
You probably won't find anything cheaper retail with those dimensions, You could probably buy old AT supplies at some local electronics junkyard for about 2 pounds, but those are larger.
whats it presisly you need? I just so happen to have some snap in 120w dc-dc convertors with ATX plugs, there designed for VIA edens, and totaly silent.
It's a replacement PSU for a FT-8005B" used by one of http://www.wyse.com/Service/discontd/netier/support/pdfs/NXSLadmin.pdf
at work I have an industrial power supply with really similar specs to that - and it's really small too - but I bet it'd be quite spendy to buy.
