I think I'm gonna put samurize on it, but do you think I should mount it in the case or not? bear in mind I already have a graphical noritake vfd (also from ebay, I'm slightly addicted)that I have yet to make a cable for. any other ideas?

Are you sure its not s-video? they look very similar.

s-video should be available on most modern graphics cards

Yea it will be a PS/2 connector, I tried plugging a PS/2 mouse into a S-video out on my friends laptop, and was stumped why it wasn't working.

Plus the connector would be green if it was a PS/2 connector.

no, green is only an easy identification for your mouse, PS/2 doesn,t have to be green,

But to be honest, S video is more likely and if i can remember correctly, it's just one piece of cable fidderent from Composite video...

    But i can be wrong

S vid comes in 5 or 7 pin afaik... most gfx cards come with adaptors to convert from one to the other..

a monitor with a ps/2 connector really doesn't sound right, my monitor has an s vieo, or tv out(in) so I figure that's what yours has.
haha I found it on ebay probably as soon as it was listed, I was just lucky I guess.

in regards to the monitor, I might try and mount it behind some tinted plexi without damaging the casing

Those arn't s-video. They are special breakout boxes containing composite aswell, if you read the 6 pin page you linked, you will see its designed for a specific graphics card.

    This is s-video:

I understand that true svideo is only 4 pin but there are others...

Springs, from the sound of it u should have gotten a lead that connects to that plug that breaks out to composite n power.. Similar to the one at the top of hazchems pic... Not sure where u can get em tho

I doubt they would combine power with video signal, there would be too much cross talk, but anything is possible i spose.

I recommend you find some documentation for that monitor. It wouldnt surprise me if it was just a power connector, i've seen those connectors used for power before. 3 different voltages plus 3 grounds to go with it. Then again it also wouldnt surprise me much if it were meant for a special breakout box. You could try opening it up and seeing where the wires go, but if i were you i'd get searching for documentation.
