    Hi,

I read the recent buyers guide and went online only to notice there are 2 flavours of this Radeon 4850. Is there a review for 512 vs 1gb memory for the Radeon 4850 card? Does the extra 512 memory translate into anything in real life? Or is it all down to the chip powering the card, and bigger memory does not really mean better.

    Thanks

The extra memory on the 4850 is less important than with a 4870. As the 4850's lower processing power, means that at higher resolutions e.g. 1920 x 1200, it runs out of shader power, before memory become an issue.

I am going to build a dual monitor PC, the resolution are:
    One monitor 19" is 1280x1024
    The other is 22" 1680x1050

Should I just stick with a Radeon HD 4830 instead? I will never play games 1920x1200.

Do your research based on the games that you play, at the resolution you play. If the 4830, or even a cheaper card will do the job, then just get that one.
