They are also JPEG's from a pre-production body. Results are bound to be improved by the time of the official release.

It is plenty enough weatherproofing for even the avid wilderness photog and its overkill for the average user. Great if your into spilling liquid on expensive equipment though.

If the results are the same, then why do i get the impression you're actually trying to make a point instead of talking faff? I think I get it now, there was no point to all of what you've said in the past two pages.

Well I've been prone to do stupid stuff like that on occasion. Spilled coke all over more than one computer, and I've dropped my iPhone onto pavement at least three times.

And I just discovered the most bizarre thing ever... if you double-click one of your topics in the topic list, you can change the thread title from there. WTF?

Right, and if you even remotely knew what you were talking about or had the capacity to understand my points you may have picked up on some of what I said, but since you seem ignorant to the fact, we'll just leave it at that ;)

Just noticed this model from another website... And I'm nothing short of impressed, I've sometimes wondered why DSLR:s don't have any video functionality, but I guess that's now sorted.

Vers and Greg - play nice, ok boys? :)

It is a brillliant feature - so useful for editing random threads that people make with crap titles. :D

I discovered it by accident when I double clicked on a thread title to enter the thread... Thank goodness I did!

    So you think by telling everyone how Canon produce it's high iso results versus the way Nikon do, makes you the brightest of the bunch? It's a shame that as soon as you joined the thread, it started to read like a fanboy/troll thread ;

If you think Matt is trolling, GregTheRotter, then you're just feeding the troll.

    lock or delete posts?

Anyway, on subject, I can't wait till a head to head comes out on dpreview or another site. Looks very interesting... Although im sure as always Australians will be ripped off when it comes to pricing :( (even though our dollar is good against the U.S. it hasnt pushed prices down? i dunno much about econmics, but to me it appears it should of.)

Not only until after I made an informative FACTUAL comment did it become a fan boy/troll thread. If you had seriously looked at what was posted instead of going on previous judgment (and making inaccurate statements) you would have understood the point, instead you argued over something your misinformed about. If proving a point is trolling then I'm guilty.

    as for:

That's called conversation...isn't that the point of all of this? Or is there a rule--I should only post after two or three posts...I didn't get the memo on that one.

Might want to change that to a link... 7.5MB is a bit much to display inline :D

Awesome complete lack of noise though.

Not only that, but retention of detail and dynamic range is awesome for ISO800.

No it's not a bit much. It's too much. Please resize it or change it to a link.

My bad, to clarify for you, I guess I must be misinterpreting the manner in which you're saying these things as if you believe them to be fact, as opposed to an opinion, making the thread seem like more of a debate than a conversation.

He comes across like that to me a lot of the time as well. But I guess it's just his way of conversation. Maybe also down to us not being native english perhaps? I don't know. I've learned to read his posts with having in mind that what sounds like claims are just conversation. We had a longer debate a while back concerning this where he just shrugged at having debated over the way he communicates and not the claims themselves.

Sorry if you're offended by this Vers. I hope you finally catch on to what I meant in the last thread where we kept going back and forth. The controVersies arise from your posts often sounding like you're sitting on the ultimate truth. It's not that I take offense by such posts I just feel it's better that you know how you sound to some (most?) people.

You're a great photo professional and I highly respect that. I hope that you'll listen without taking offense at my outspokenness.

I'm not trying to debate, I'm just attempting to state a fact. For example: It is a fact that the 1DsIII has equal high ISO performance as the D3. It is also a fact that the 1DsIII retains more detail than the D3. If the solid proof I provided within the links did not open your eyes to that I can't help you understand any further. If you would like to carry on a conversation based on popular belief alone then be my guest. I stand by what I've said.

OleJ, No you did not hurt my feelings. However there is something to keep in mind when posting text online--there is a lot that can be misconstrued by the reader. All of what I've said comes without malice--the basis of the discussion was to prove a point...sometimes it works, other times it does not. Obviously this was a failed attempt. If you go back through and read the materials provided in the links you will find a lot of what people believe as common truth is in fact not the case. If you would like to understand exactly where this is coming from please read through this and this...pay very close attention to what FM member 'Brainiac' has to say.
