Is it. Simple yes or no would be great. I am haing *major* probs with my pc, and have narrowed the prob to probably this..Is it likely. I am getting random reboots etc. If i unplug loadsa stuff i can get it up to 4.30, which stills seems low to me?

Quick reply appreciated. Spec is main box in the sig.

Yes that is seriously low! That would cause major probs! What motherboard and PSU are you using? When I had an Epox 8KHA+ and an Enermax my 5v line was at 4.7ish and I had desperate troubles! 4.1 to 4.3 is rediculous though and quickly needs sorting out!:eeek:

    Cheers for the quick reply.
I have a Iwill KK266r mobo and 300w Codegen PSU. It was never a problem before, but is now :p Looks like more money being spent...

Thats waaaaaaaaaay low! Below 4.8 is reckoned to be the limit really, as any lower is considerably undervoltage all and everything that uses the 5v line........

    :)

Well if your saying its stable don't worry. Maybe the readings are off on the mobo try using a multi meter on it to get a better reading.

It USED to be stable. its not now, and i cant think of what i changed :( I used a Multimeter and it was about 4.8, still a bit low possibley. But .4 v are being dropped accross my mobo, which is bad. I'l swop out another one and see if that works.

OK. I just took the psu out and look @ the connector :(
    [IMG]
Ack - something bad happened methinks. But it is seeming to work fine in another system - 5v line hovers @ 4.99 which is fine. But i put a new PSU in my system and i can only get it up to 4.53. SO is my mobo fried somewhere? it works fine. THis is what the atx connector looks like

HELP - what has happened to my lovely KK266r mobo ??? :sigh: :miffed:

Has the warranty run out? If not, see if you can send it back! If that's happened once, I wouldn't personally want to risk it again!

amen!, tbh matey, if that was mine i would whip that mobo out.

now i know we modders are erm, 'hardcore' and live life on the edge :D, sumtimes.

but this could be seriously dangerous, specially if you leave your pc on for long periods of time. Lets face it...

Burthouse, or no pc for a week (or til you afford/buy a new mobo)

    your choice of course...

just be careful mate, be safe.

    Hmmm
I agree but dont really want to! lol. Now i have a pc runnin with a possibly dodgy mobo, and another pc running with possibly dodgy psu. Damn i am hardcore !!!!
You reckon i could get the mobo replaced under guarantee - if i could find the recipt? Or does burning ATX power socket void warranty?
Are you guys saying i should buy a new mobo, INCASE this ones fries even more? Its workin @ the mo, altho with a couple of probs that i am sorting out, i think unrelated to that "incident".
And the old psu, seems to be fine, but you guys reckon it is a BIG risk?
