Just got my hands on a few 6.2" touch screen TFT's which i plan on mounting into the front of a couple of show cases mainly to show promotional videos while at events but hopefully want to get some software running on them to show vitals while in everyday use. They are VGA screens and can run at 1600 x 1200 which is fine but to use the touch function with your fingers i dropped the res down to 720 x 480 which still looks fine while running Windows 8 and and is perfect for movies etc. but when surfing the horizontal scroll bar is needed though using a styles i could up the res as i'm running a 25 point calibration software which is really accurate. Anyway, next step is to get them mounted but just thought i'd show a few pictures of where i'm at and how it will look in the front of a Cosmos II Running through the 25 point calibration Windows 8 at 720 x 480 Skyfall on VLC Media Player How it fits in the TCM Gaming Cosmos II I made a little Youtube video a while back running Microsoft Touch Pack on a 6x5.6"(4:3) screen but these new widescreen ones are much better
Very cool , and a descent res for such a little screen. Hope you have ordered a box full, can see these being popular
could I have a link please, these are perfect for a project I have in mind, would need 4, hope not too expensive
Wow nice work very impressive! Yeah, if there is a link available that would be great please. Would like to know if they would be any good for a RPi project I'm working on
Looks great. Are you sure 6.2" can run 1600 x 1200? Please send me a link. Would be perfect for my car PC and rpi mod im working on
would love a link to these please if possible chaps, looks fantastic! are they resistive/cap touch? are they multi touch? C
Sorry guys there is no link, i bought these direct from a manufacturer in China though i have just ordered more Going back to what Dudey109 mentioned, i've been having a good bit play around with the resolution to find what is the best for both quality and usability of the touch screen and at present i'd say creating a Custom Res in the Nvidia control panel of 640 x 480 is best for using fingers though using a styles it can go quite a bit higher though i think i've i'm just going to keep it at the current rate for now and see how i get on Oh BTW, it can go to 1600 x 1200 but its hard enough to actually see the icons never mind trying to use the touch function as you can see in pic 2 below at 640 x 480 at 1600 x 1200 Running Half Life 2
looks great! are these multi touch capacative or single touch? im somewhat mystified with the secrecy behind the origin of these. I'll check some of my regular chinese wholesalers later (dx.com/dealextreme/chinavasion/wholesalechinabuy etc) and post links to help others should i find them.
There is no secret or hidden agenda, i first started dealing with this company back in 2009 when i bought 25x 6x5.6"(4:3) screens and mounted one in a Coolermaster ATCs 840 which i showed here on the forum somewhere. I'm dealing direct with the manufacturer and not a retailer so they don't sell single units to the public, hence why i imported 25 at a time. Original 6x5.6"(4:3) screens
Who are you using? Do they do larger displays? I've been interested in making my own monitor for a while.
Please could you PM me some details too, as Im interested in using these for a project I have at the moment? Many Thanks...
