Now I have a vague idea of what slashdot was talking about - the summary pointed to their general switch campaign and not the TV ads. Of course, I'm busy raping my bandwidth getting HL2:E1 preloaded while downloading four video podcasts so I'll be watching later.

    Urgh.

Those adverts make me ashamed to be a mac user. They're so horrible and smug and cheesy. Perhaps the US market likes that though. I really hope they don't make it over here.

Yeah, I think Americans like in-your-face advertising. Apple wouldn't dare show those over here.

I won't comment on how correct I think those videos are. ;)

That's one less star on my list for John Hodgman's coolness.

Maybe Apple should do what North American beer companies do. If you can't be creative with your advertising, just add fat guys and hot chicks.

Not only was the scripting and acting pure and utter blech, but the casting was just crap.
Mac: "Uh... uh... uh... You know what..."
    PC: "Oh yes, that better."

Mac acts all angular and a bit stupid, and the PC talks very softly and just has no idea what's going on (part-wise). C'mon, people. This is kind of pathetic.

This is something stoners think up, not highly paid media advertising geniuses. I've literally heard better coming from the pot-smokers and cokies in the bathroom stalls at school. :hip:

Well, oddly, I don't mind them. Yes, they're a bit silly and corny. But from a Mac point of view, they do educate the average egit on the street. They're not totaly falicious(They have the thing in about the PC making a "mean spreadsheet") but that Macs are better for creative shindigs. They're not saying "super duper wow this is perfect amazing at everything". So long as the average idiot becomes a little less of an idiot, I'm happy, and these adverts do a much better job of that then Windows adverts. So I like.

There a little stupid, the cad comic that ch424 posted sums it up. The old guy looks more like a dell guy over anything else.

Well Apple just keep these kinds of Ads comming and not only will I change my mind about Macs (I was planning to buy a mac and see the other side maybe next year), but I might start to dislike apple.

Hey Let's insult the people who we are trying to take amongst our ranks, that's always a good ad campaign. Keep's us stable at 10% or the market share.

No really, I think they are funny and all, and I enjoyed watching that. But these SWITCH ads not only make fun of the system I am using but also makes fun from PC users.

And you know, this makes me want to say F%687801101 11 0 to Apppple$1010 .... [windows crashed]
