Hosting a LAN party in about a week, looking for some good games to play which are enjoyable for 6players.

So far we have Serious Sam 2, Trackmania and Diablo 2.

I'm looking for a more realistic co-op fps, a fun deathmatch fps, a good rts other then Starcraft or Warcraft 3 (giving those 2 a break) and a racing game that supports other game modes rather then just racing.

Any suggestions would be great even if not in the criteria.

    Thanks in advance.

Left 4 Dead versus mode, 3 players on each team with a computer controlled player.
COD4, cuz EVERYONE loves that game (for some odd, odd reason)
ArmA 2 (You can probably play a coop mission with friends and have some good fun just commanding 2 tanks between the 6 of you, against an army of 50 rocket soldiers)

    Armagetron Advanced!

Battlegrounds: Source would be a fun change of pace from the standard FPS, if you're into it.

Just some suggestions (I used to hold allnight gaming sessions every friday)

    RTS = Ground Control 2
Age of Empires (either release was good)

FPS = Battlefield 1942/2/2142 (bots are great to either fill up the teams have 6 vs 32)
    Rainbow Six Vegas (Terrorist hunt)
Ghost Recon (old game but still alot of fun with friends)
Counter-Strike (3 on 3, or install bot pack)
Unreal Tournament (King of frantic FPS)

    RACING = DIPRIP (HL2 Mod)
    GTA (Cannonball run)
    Armagedtron (TRON Light cycles multiplayer)
    Burout Paradise

COMBAT FLIGHT = Strike Fighter : Project One

Why not all download a 14day trial to World of warcraft and just use it for that one night (lol)

These games are the ones I know can support 6 players (either by default or with patch) and are alot of fun (most were requested by gamers at the allnighters)

    Thanks for the suggestions!

So far we've got Serious Sam 2, Armagetron Advanced, Midtown Madness 2, Diablo 2, Age of Empires 2 and Red Alert 3.

L4D, TF2 and Counter-Strike: Source would be on the list but we only have 5accounts for each games.

Can you LAN Rainbow Six: Vegas with one CD Key?
Which Unreal Tournament would be the best?

    Keep the suggestions coming, thankyou!

World in Conflict, an RTS with no base building and heavy emphasis on co-op play. Short map times (around 20 minutes) make it ideal for LAN sessions.

fraid not! the drm on this game is quite stringent, we tried to play it at a LAN recently and couldn't get it to work (even using a fixed exe)

Rainbow six needs a seperate key for each computer, so legally u would need a seperate copy for each (ofcourse google is your friend for "other" methods)

My favourite version of unreal was 2004 (depending on computer spec really, just get the best you can handle)

One game you HAVE TO GET is Postal 2 Share The Pain Multiplayer (you get to smack peoples heads off, urinate on them, pour petrol on them and flick matches at them, make them cough up blood, put cats on the end of your guns as silencers and alot more GREAT stuff :jawdrop:

Dont forget the FREE FULL GAMES that have been released such as:

    Command & Conquer GOLD
    Warzone 2100
    P.U.R.E.
    Full Spectrum Warrior
Far Cry Free Full Game (Ad Supported)
    rFactor
    Urban Terror v4.1

There are alot more available @ http://www.gamershell.com/fullgame_download_archive.html

Good luck with C&C Tiberium Dawn (Gold) because it's soo old, it uses protocols that were considered standard in Victorian England, it is possible, for 2 people to play, but it took me several days to get it working on my Desktop and Laptop.
You mention RA3, well, defo defo consider RA2, it's the best amount of fun i've had in a LAN, and to increase to that, Yuri's Revenge. Oh the fun i had with that

Is it possible to LAN Counter-Strike Source with 1 cd key?
    What about L4D?

I've had 2 other people using my Steam account during a LAN, just log in on each pc in turn and then switch to offline mode.

I've never tried it, but I hear Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale games are multiplayer capable.

In Baldur's Gate, every time a player talks to an NPC or performs an action, it pauses the game for everyone which gets annoying really quickly. Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate 2 or even Neverwinter Nights are better a mp experience, although you and your buddies need to take a week off work to really get into them.

I'm not sure how many players saints row 2 supports multiplayer, but that game co-op is utterly hilarious

Armies of Exigo or the original Dawn of War (with expansions) are always good RTS'. And a bit different to your standard Starcraft/Warcraft III.

Team Fortress 2 or Counter Strike Source (maybe with gungame mod) - servers are easy enough to set up.

HAWX is good fun for a bit and its something very different.

Vegas 2 (but its 4 player max i think).

Unreal Tournament 2004 is brutal! Well worth a play.

GRID is a good racing game.

Command & Conquer : Generals, and the Zero Hour Expansion.
Unreal Tournament classic, from a bargain bin near you.
