Just about to build a new Games Rig and am going down the SLI path. As I only upgrade every 3 years or so I want to build the best I can at the mo.

The cards will be matched with a 3800+ for now which will be replaced with a FX57 when its out.

I don't care about the package just price/performance and I have no real interest in overclocking although I will be watercooling so there is headroom for that should I want.

Any additional feedback on the cards would be good as well, as there is quiet a price difference between them.

Also anyone set up an SLI Rig with a Card not listed on SLIZone?

    Thanks in advance.

well ive voted for the gainward card simply because you are almost guarenteed of getting higher than stock clocks on the cards.
and the pretty impresive cooler thats on it too.
they do have problems fitting into some motherboards though, the abit av8 will let you struggle with it, so if you go for that mobo, then youll have probs.
a friend of mine has one of these and its impressed him and me too.

Any of BFGTech, XFX or Gainward would be a pretty safe bet IMHO.

There's no particular order I wrote those in either.

If you want a superb bundle though, I'd go with the MSI. :)

I started out with the MSI board but soon realised that the spacing between the 2 Sli slots was only 40mm which wasn't enough to fit both blocks so ditched that idea and went for the Asus A8N which is 60mm and can easily accommodate a couple of Danger Den NV-68 blocks and squeeze a NB block in between keeping everything nice and cool.

Gainward 6800Ultra Golden Samples all the way

Thanks all. I guess Gainward is the winner so, especially as Dabs currently have a pair in stock for £350. Although they have the non-GS for same price for some reason.

BTW I won't start building until June, have to finish Exams (full time job + evening degree = stress :D ) I presume it best, as always to wait till then, see what else is new!

Remember £350 just gets you the one card!

Not sure why they got the Golden Sample and standard at the same price though :duh:

Thanks for the feedback all. I decided to ignore you all :D and buy a pair of Club3D 6800Ultra's from Aqua Coputer Berlin where I was buying all my WC stuff. At €469 each that was a saving of nearly €60 each. €120 is nothing to be sniffed at!

Now will they work in SLI

ALL pci-e 6600GT, 6800GT and 6800U's (are meant to) work in SLI.

They do not all work however...

If you plan to purchase another card in the future get a card from a well know manufacturer e.g. XFX, BFG, Asus, Club 3D, Gainward, Leadtek..
That way you will be able to buy another of the same make and model..

    Not
    e.g. OEM Card

    Matt :)
