I know the 6800LE can be unlocked (well some can be) however I'm after which is best from stock.

If i get a 6800LE and it does not unlock I'm interested as to whether it will perform similar to the 6600GT. I'm swapping from a 9800pro so as long as performance does not go down I'll be a happy bunny.

    Thanks people :D

They are quite similar when stock.
If I had the choice, 6800LE, since it can still be overclocked loads usually if the pipes can't be unlocked.

    Nope, don't think so.
The 6600GT can be sli'd, as can the 6800GT.

with the new nvidia drivers all cards from 6200 up support sli, it's just not as fast if you don't use the special connector which needs the gold fingers ontop of the card. The 6800le dosen't have the gold fingers so although it will do sli, it will do it not as fast as it's theoreticaly capable of.

check NVIDIA's website for SLI support... I'm not sure about 6800 LE, but (some 6600 Std's), 6600 GT, 6800 Std, 6800 GT, 6800 Ultra etc support SLI
