    Hello chaps,

Right here is the conundrum, i bit the bullet and sorted out my system. I upgraded the main bits, got a nice i5 4690k, 16gb of corsair vengeance ram and an asus z97-k. Treated myself to a bit of redundancy and also purchased a second wd caviar black for some raid 1. I tried changing signature but keep getting database error.

So thats basically my pc budget for the next long time gone. I am seeing a performance gain, many frames. The main game i play is guild wars 2, i have gone from medium settings 15-30fps to maxed out at 35-65fps.

My bottleneck now is my 2gb 6870 xfx gpu. If i could source a cheap 2gb 6870 and crossfire would i get any kind of noticeable increase in performance?

There is a Radeon VTR HD 6870x2 for sale on ebay, but i think it will go for too much. And i think it will be too much power consumption.

My aim is 60fps constant at high settings 1920x1080, i don't need to go maxed settings.

Or should i save some pennies and purchase a new card and sell mine to recoup some cash?

Selling and getting a single card would be a better solution both in terms of power consumption and less driver hassle that comes with XFire, SLI etc although things are a lot better these days.
How much have you got to add to the sale price of your existing card?
This will form the basis of responses I would guess.

100 quid.... Few quid extra wouldn't be a problem. Don't know how much I would get for old card.

    Probably looking at something like a r9 280, isn't nvidia releasing a 960?

    They're selling for about 40-50 I think.
