first of all, i just registered. I visited these fora for a long time but i never had the urge to post something Yesterday some dude dropped off a malfunctioning portable dvd player wich seemed to have an error in the 'disk-reading segment'. The lcd itself was working well. As my boss didn't want to send it for repairment, i bought the whole stuff over for €1, wich also included lots of gagdets like headset, lots of connectioncables, a caryingbag,.... lots of goodies When i came home i ripped open the portable dvd player and carefully removed the screen: the controlpanel: the video+power input: it had other chippanels aswell: one that served as the PSU (in teh plug!), one that served as a control panel/menu (play buttons, pause/reverse, that kind of stuff) and a big one controlling the video output (to a tv), the audio and the conversion of the dvd-signal to give it to the LCD Now i only took out the LCD with it's main chipsetpanel. i don't think i need te others (i hope so =p). Basically it all comes down to this 1/ From the 8 wires on the pic, wich are used for power (my guess is the red, white nd black one tied together) and wich are for the video input (white, grey, red, brown and blue wires) 2/ is it able to put this weird kind of plug into something like perhaps a VGA or DVI plug? 3/ If yes, how do i do this tx anyways i hope i made myself clear edit: just some more info on the connector it has listings: CON WIDE GND C Y GND +9v DC
WIDE probably comes from the player and marks it for Widescreen C is probably for Composite +9V will be the voltage input probably.
Good chance that whatever wire that is wrapped in a sheild is your video input, probably to cut down on possible EMI.
what i came up with GND: 2 ground wires the 9V is obvious the voltagesupply Wide idd from the player C: could be composite DC: direct current left overs: Y, Con
Find a device that outputs composite, like an old video game console and try hooking it up to see what it does. Give the lcd its 9v. Test the composite input to the C pin on your lcd Oh and, welcome to the forums!
i've got response from the manufacturar. By simply altering a jumper, the out could just became an in but it was nowhere to be seen in the manual. but now i have to alter svideo out (on graka) to a composite one anyone have an idea? update it works \o/ i just had to isntal ati calayst display center to have it set to 'extended desktop' and it friggin worked didn't even need the converterpiece 1 euro for a 7" tft :') deim i luv it just one thing: i can't get it to display movies. i can move the divx screen over (extended desktop) to the lcd but it doesn't do anything, eventho the movie IS rolling edit: moviething fixed XD
nice job Any way you can get it to work as a main monitor though (say if I want to add it to my server to conserve space) also what is the make and model
you can't find it on the internet tho it's an Axion model converted for some special sale in the local stores the type doesn't show up when i google it and yes it can be used as a main monitor but the LCD itself isn't sharp enough. It's excellent for displaying movies tho
