Finally decided to bite the bullet and get something better than my old P4.

All prices here are in Australian $$ and taken from Ozzie websites.
I've got $600 to spend on a new:
    Mobo
    Ram
    Cpu
    GFX

I'm a student in year 10, so this will be used for gaming, surfing the web, homework and graphic related design.

I'm thinking of diving in and doing a bit of overclocking, but as it will be my first time, obviously nothing extreme.

What I've come up with so far:

RAM Crucial Ballistix RAM 2GB 5300 $109 nintek
    CPU Core 2 Duo E8200 (2.66GHz/45nm/1333FSB/6M) $219 ITestate
    Mobo Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L $110 ITestate
    GPU Hightech ATI HD3850 PCI-E 512MB IceQ 3 Turbo $253 onlinevip
    Total: $691

Anything you think I should change?
    Any tips?
    Opinions?

    Cheers :thumb:

The prices you quoted (not the RAM) add up to $582 - is the RAM $12, or have you forgotten to add that and shipping is $12?
You may be better off with some 800MHz PC6400 Memory to allow you some headroom when overclocking.
    Other than that, looks great.
I would echo Gravemind's question about the PSU though.

All the Ballistix have Micron D9GMH predominantly, so you shouldn't have any issues running the DDR2-667 Ballistix up at the 1000+MHz mark.

I've got a Antec true 480 currently, But I guess if that doesn't cut it, I'll update to something more beefy.

Hmm.. My maths doesn't seem up to date.
Guess that's why I'm still in school

    The ram is $109

Thanks for pointing that out :D

Not the best power supply out there, but it should be fine running the system you want to run on it.
