Does £185 for a branded 7800GT ViVo SLI 512MB sound a bit too good to be true?

You can get the 7900gto for less than that.

<edit> Just noticed you said the SLI (dual) jobbie, so I would expect it to be faster than the gto, though, I don't know by how much. :duh:

Just had a quick look around. The next best price that I could find was £350 from Komplett!

I think he means something like the Asus Dual, 2x GPU's & 2x 256MB on one PCB, like the old ATI Rage Fury Maxx.

Asus Dual, I think that was it. It has an external power supply as well.

Edit: It's just gone up in price - it's now £209.72 :wallbash:

    Wow thats silly money!
IIRC there was also a dual 6600GT card. That was expensive too.

Wow, £185 for one of those dual asus card's would've been an absolute steal!! Shame I didn't see this thread earlier :(

As for the 512mb 7800gt, I'm pretty sure that Gainward were the only partner to release such a model, under their 'Goes Like Hell' monicker.

At the risk of waking up a dormant thread, does anyone know the maximum resolution for an XFX 7800GT 256mb?

I have managed to divine that it's 2048*1536 but is that PER MONITOR or across two monitors? I have a pair of monitors running at 1280*1024 each at present, but would rather like to upgrade to a pair of 20" widescreens.

Mine's running at 1680x1050 on my 20" widescreen if that answers your question.
