Scratch Build – In Progress 7th.GeN - Rebooted ^^

Hi again guys! small hardware update today, as everything is starting to get sorted ^^

Just got a mail from HW labs regards to the 560 radiator, and it will come with a custom painjob, The exterior will be matte black and the core will be red.

So guess we ended up on a black/red theme this time around

Also, the Dangerden waterblocks for the 5970 and 5870 is on its way, cant wait to get it in here and take some pics of it ^^

Anyone wanna give a style suggestion regards to the case? feel free to paint out some ideas and post em here ^^

 

I'd say bare metal. Satin finish alu is perfection in my world, lol.

 

Hmm... pure alu, eh? andonized black and red aint a option?

 

Well all bare alu won't be nice too, so you can have some anodized parts, lol. For me its just always a bit of a turn down that after a very nice work-log the case gets covered in some paint. Anodizing (if done right) keeps the finish characteristics of the aluminium, so that could be cool too.

But hey, seeing the case design, I think you are well capable of making the good decisions. Good luck!

 

Red and black seems to be the flavor lately. And I personally like it as well. How bout mixing it up with a little polished Alum and perhaps some gold/bronze bling in there, I've tested a few little parts with gun metal blue that look pretty sharp! Whatever you come up with will still look amazing on your build.

don't know how much of my bandwidth you where using but mostly over 15% for those 5days...

black\red radiators... humm...
black&red themed computers are so many off right now you that you might get sick off looking after the end of em...
but maybe go as someone here hinted, pure alu outside, and then an'ized black and red interior.

but then again whit the motherboards you got now and it would fast became a Black\red\blue colour-space innside...
but then you can also give a *bip* in the colour on the radiator and go for something else

 

Either way, get on with it! I am very interested in this build, because its something I would build if I were a modder myself.

Just kidding, take your time. Planning is essential.

Some hardware has arrived 0.o

Hi guys!

After another couple of days are the hardware finally starting to show up... so lets just start with some images shall we?

Let me introduce... the HIS 5970



















Cant wait to get some DD blocks on this one... also, the 5870 should be arriving soon..

Another mysterious box arrived a couple of days ago aswell, i have to admit... i had NO idea what it might contain... just the sheer size of it.. it was just HUGE, a knife... and some cutting later, i figured out what the box contained ^^













Yes... it is indeed the monolithic GTX 560 Radiator from HW labs, and a smaller 280 rad... and OMFG its huge... its been awhile since ive seen something this beautyfull

And hey... no cooled down PC without some fan's, eh? Bought some Mist 140mm 17DB fans for this build

And on to the build...

Well, to be honest... not too much has happened on this front quite yet, ive been working on the backplate to mount the PSU, and ive drilled and tapped up holes for the sideplates, but now that the hardware has more or less arrived i can finally start planning and placing stuff in there



























Some touchups will be done regards to countersinking all the bolts, aswell as sanding/anodizing/painting as so on

I should be able to get a update going tomorrow aswell

 

They sent you all sorts of goodies with that 5970. I guess they should at a 600$ price tag.

I love the rads. I love the color too. Are you going to be anodizing or powder coating the cases?

That is one big ass rad man, and the colors are pretty! I kinda flinched when I saw MW2 visuals on that video card, bad experiences with that game man. Good thing you are going to watercool it..
Lol, the case stacked together look like some sort of server from hell.. Very cool!

 

Holy baitfish. Reel'd in a nice catch there. Nice picts of your build. Makes the psu look tiny. Fierce looking rig.

 

Havent really decided on the finnish yet, have to see how the surface will turn out after some sand blasting, if it turns out nice, ill andonize, if not, ill go for powdercoat

Well... not mine my friend =) they are pretty much on maintainance ^^

And really cant wait to get some watercooling on that card, i really wanna try and stay on low db on this build

Its basically two full size atx cases stacked on top of eachother

 

Well I saw some awesome hardware there and mods but I saw also (heart bit raised) some KTM's..... I am so sad I had to sell mine.... But keep on rollin buddy!!!

 

Congratulations on getting some permanent hardware (wife). My wife thankfully puts up with my modding hobby. The other hardware looks slick. I really like the way the GPU and rads will fit with your color scheme. I wish I had access to a CNC. There is no other way to get complex cuts like that so perfectly straight.

 

This looks like it will be one serious bit of kit. Nice work

 

OMFG, I can't believe I missed this mod until now. The CADs are amazing, very nice work. Excellent work so far my friend, I can't wait to see more of this. Congratulations on your MOTM nomination Also, well deserved .

 

What the hell are you going to use this for anyways?
