Currenly my case temps are fine, I have 2 generic 80mm case fans one on the front pulling air in and another in the rear as an exaust. These generic fans are old, loud and it is time to replace them. What decent 80mm fans are available ranging from quiet to loud? I would like to reduce the noice of the fans in my computer if possible.
For uber-quiet fans, check out quiet pc. Prices seem a little steep though, but I guess you get what you pay for!
I recently found the following site from the forums at silentpcreview.com ... : http://homepage.ntlworld.com/dorothy.bradbury/panaflo.htm Ordered some last week and they arrived in a few days, very helpfull and fast emails too. The models they stock seem to be well known so might be worth a look for you
Yep those panflow LA1 are nice, good find elneckio AFAIK they are hard to find in europe. Cheers mate.
Yep, do a search on ebay.co.uk for "Panaflo" or "Papst" and the seller from that cheap website will come up. She has excellent feedback so I'd say buy with confidence
The ones I ordered from there arrived within a few days, and I've just ordered a few more ! The lady that answers the emails is extremely helpfull and seems to know lots about fan tech.
Do you want to here something funny, well I got some new fans including a Zalman Zm-F1 sourced from Quiet PC, as they are suposted to be quiet, well I pulled out my fan controller, swaped all my wires to 3 pin, installed both fans, booted up computer. I ran toast to check temps under load, I left the computer crunching for 15 mins at full fan power. I come back shout WHAT!!! when I see my CPU temp 2 degrees cooler, but my case temps are up 10 degrees!!! eeek I make sure my fan controller is on full, yes it is, so I open up my PC and then it hits me, I installed the fans backward so my good exaust was a intake and my intake was a exaust, so I swap the direction of the fans, check with a feather to make sure the air is flowing correctly. Boot up toast wait another 15 mins and yes these fans are working very nicely indeed. Under load CPU is 6 degrees cooler and case temps is 3 degrees cooler, also idle temps are great now.
I agree I bought 4 of them. They are not the most quiet, but they are pretty decent, especially they don't whine! Too bad you can't 7v them though
