Hello. How are you doing today? I hope fine. I build systems for people. My good option for all people all the time was the 8800GT, It has every thing a gamer could ask for. BUT now after the 4850 is out and no much price different. But I read that 4850 OWN them all. SO Should I get that for people or keep the 8800GT when I build systems from now on? Thanks
The 8800GT has been replaced by the 9800GTX (after the price drops) I suppose in the £199 segment... And the 4850 provides the same performance as the 9800GTX for a little less so it comes to preference really... Do you like Green or Red? Personally I've been waiting for a good ATi card come out and can't wait till I have the spare money to get me a 4870 (just hope HiS have one of thier IceQ'x' ones out by then...)
depends... what kind of sscreen are you giving these people with their PCs? What kind of gamers are these people? Do they upgrade every year or do they want a machine to last for 5 years? Anyway, the 4850 is the better card, it gets my vote. make sure you get an edition with a better cooling solution though, heat and noise are factors too
Normal people ask for normal pc on budget but not crap. Most of them want some thing for gaming. but not hardcore. most of them have LCDS 15 / 17 / 19 inch So I used to put the 8800GT for long time now and no one didn't like it. But now when the 4850 is out with nearly the same price. IT should be kick on the ass I really like the " Do you like Red or green " , good one sjhujh
Options would be key here, i think - tell it to the client like it is: "I can get you this or that - they're about the same, some better at this, others better at that. which one for you?"
Lol thanks... I agree with BentAnat, becuase they are so close in terms of gaming it's no longer a case of "oh the 9800GTX/4850 is alot better i'll go for that" Now there's the added on-GPU physics argument and then there the whole possibility of Video editing through CUDA etc etc...
yeah I heared by 2009 this tech will be old they will have new on GPU physics and the 1366 pins cpu with a bridge. it will rock. But I heared they will coast. So not alot of people will buy them.
I doubt any games developer will relaly jump on physics with GPUs until there's a unified language like OpenCl.
they can learn it I think. They are guys like us, Fresh and have open mind. I'm shocked that there is some one want the " Nvidia 8800GT " mmm
