Probably going to get some flame for this, but yes for my new PC rather than ordering all the pieces, waiting several days then building the thing, I've just went and bought a Dell.

I've got the Dimension 9200 which currently has a 7900GS card in it. However as I also got their 20" wide screen monitor and upgrade to Vista I'd like a DX10 card in the not too distant future (once the drivers are sorted).

I wondered if the PSU in the dell would cope with the 8800. Anyone any knowledge on Dell kit?

The PSU will probably have the power rating on the side, written on a label. What are the rest of the specs? (To save us having to look it up).

Another thing to check - if you need a new PSU, make sure the mobo has standard ATX connectors - in the past Dell have used custom PSU's, and you wouldn't want to mix them up. (They might have stopped, but it's worth checking). :)

Also, you'd need to check the power connectors on the PSU for the graphics card I would assume?

Doesn't really matter if it's missing a 6-pin PCI-e connector - you can buy molex convertors for next to nothing.

True! bit cheaper than replacing a PSU as well.

Will there physically be space for the 8800 in the case?

I would seriously recommend checking the PSU, It should be enough, I unfortunatly have a dell desktop (no offence to u, but its old and i dislike it very much, but my dell laptop on the other hand is ace), i have noticed with dell is they don't like given u extra wattage in you PSU, mine doesn't have enough juice in to do any major upgrade like a new graphics card, it blows
