You could get a decent level of specialist care for at least 18 months for the same price as that system.

Thinking about it, that amount would cover my rent and most of my bills for two and a half years.

Another nonsense publicity stunt from OcUK and 8Pack. What a load of tosh.

Nonsense would be taking parts and just casting them in precious metals or covering in diamonds etc.

This, on the other hand, is the best sort of advertising. It raises the bar for the hobby alongside the pricetag, can't really complain about top notch work and quality can you? Or is their time and effort not worth anything?

    ___

Hold on, this rig wasn't on sale for the whole time?

They should offer that as a separate system, not like I would pay money for it as I would never buy a pre built pc, but would be a nice config to showcase just what is possible with mini-itx.

So this is what ocuk did with the money they made from their shameless £150+ gtx1080 price hikes immediately after the Brexit vote.

I understand building a bleeding edge computer with fancy case and cooling, but why put two computers in one case? It not like this is computer is for a farm where one is trying to increase computer density.

Traditionally, the idea between twin rigs was to have one low-power ITX system for general use and a high-performance full-size system you could fire up when you needed it.

In this case, though? For no other reason than to bump up the price tag.

For £24k I would at least want the tubes to run straight and parallel!!! None of the bends have been done on a jig so they all have different radius (maybe its angle of the pictures). I would much rather pay one of the guys making pro projects on here for probably half the cost of this and get a much better build

So, next year, when there's a faster processor, and faster graphics cards, I've got to pay to have the whole thing taken apart and rebuilt... Just interested to see if all-in-one's have replaced full blown water cooling for most people?

I think they're separate markets. I know far more people who've taken up custom loop watercooling recently than I do people who've switched from custom loops to CLCs. CLCs simply don't look as good, nor do they have any personal achievement associated with building using one.

Basically it is a concept piece. It looks good and is cleverly built but at the end of the day its a bit of art.

Even if had a shedload of money and I could afford that out of my small change I wouldn't buy it. I would rather have go at making something myself. The binned chips etc are of no interest to me, what difference is it going to make in the real world useage ?

Its just marketing. Something outrageous to get people talking. A number of sites have covered this...monstrosity at (I'm assuming) zero cost to Overclockers beyond the cost of making the computer. If anyone is loony enough to buy one, that'll just be a bonus for Overclockers. It is probably more effective than buying an equivalent amount of adspace on the same websites.

In essence built to be covered by tech websites and not to be sold.
