Networks 98/XP Usb Networking? Is it poss?

    Is it possable to setup usb networking between a windows 98 machine and a windows XP laptop? I know winXP is capable but is it compatable with 98 ?

    That cable should do ya for basic file trasnfers....Anything beyond that its useless....I say crossover cable so you can atleast printer and net share as well.....

    Well its only so my girlfriend can transfer music and files from her main pc onto her new laptop and not really a constant network :) The laptop has an on board NIC but the computer doesnt as its an ancient packard bell thing :(

    Yea and I remeber something about win 98 first edition not having usb support....I know SE does but no FE

    Yea well the cross over is basicly like the usb cable, I just know that it will work...USB not so sure about
