Does anyone know how good or not the new reference cooler is on the 980x? Or is a Fenrir the best option for air cooling?
by all accounts its much better than the old coolers, but not anywhere near the fenrir - anand said 3.5ghz was the limit for the reference cooler on the 980X, which is pretty decent.
oh i misread - thats at stock voltage. when anand kicked up the voltage it hit 4.1ghz - with a fenrir or TRUE it hits 4.4 apparently. http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=3763&p=15
