Lock your doors, dont let them in, simple as. They can't force their way in and if they try you can kick their asses and have them done for breaking and entering. Under no circumstance are you to give them access to your property, for any reason (not even to use the phone, loo, etc). Once they gain access they have the right to break down your door at a future date.
Wait, you all have collectors actually come to your door in the UK!?!? Damn, they would take their lives in their hands doing that in many areas of the US..
Another reason why guns aren't legal in the UK! Tho I would find it funny seeing a collector knocking on the door and getting told to go away with a shotgun poking out the letter box
To be honest some of them deserve far worse, they use bullyboy tactics at the best of times and downright decieptful methods often on the most vulnerable of people. Frankly debt collectors deserve everything they get, and even if they do manage to get into your property the first time you can release a savage dog in the house to tear them apart when they break in the second time, guard dogs don't discriminate between lawful and unlawful entry. Scum, that's all they are.
Bloody hell, I've heard of things like this happening to people that owe tens of thousands, not a few hundred quid. These people sound like scum, why oh why can't they get themsleves a decent honest job ?
hey guys, i just found this thread through google while i was searching for details on NCO. i've also had letters/calls from them for $1,000 and it's to do with paypal, AND that card with the Tuesday 9am - 9pm from Mr Brown, I had that same card come last Friday. I live in Kent so it would be interesting to see where you lived to see how this guy was going to visit us both on Tuesday!! cheers, Dean.
-the in that quote. they do mean you will save 25% if you pay now in one lump amount. see they are a nice company afterall
The simple fact is, 99% of people a firm say owe them money are guilty as hell and know it, so nobody's trying to con you. If you're one of the 1% innocent, it will pay to sort it out with Paypal or you could find it hard to borrow money or get a mortgage in years to come.
Paypal wont report to any credit agency. And the NCO collectors wont either. Do you know how many debits these guys get? Too many to file all the reports. Its just not cost effective. And if they ever did, you could most certainty file a dispute and get it taken off. Paypal is just over the legal/illegal line, there that shady. A good read over there TOS will prove that. There not even a credit agency, or bank. There mainly just a credit card processing service with a bank account option. EDIT: Hell, honestly, if Paypal effected your credit in a negative way that'd be a good law suite right there.
