    does anybody else think thats a lot of power to pull from one USB :worried:
    i was gona do a mod and use USB power but i was told you shouldn't draw alot of power through the USB port or it would kill it :duh:

    just a thought :thumb:

    Nah wouldn't pull alot.. its only a few l.e.d's.. Think things like webcams, cordless mouse receiver thingy's would probably take more..

    If it does mess up your USB though.. you know it was to much :rock:

    Thats why he has the recistors (I dunno if its correct)...

    The recistors give only the power threw, that the leds need...

    Everything OK except I believe the long leads on the LED are positive (+) and the short leads are negative (-). You seem to have them reversed.

    BTW keep the grill Shiny!

    Thank you that you confimed my connections and that that the long leads are + and shorts ones are - :D

    BTW. I'll keep the grill shiny and I'll add some nice "bling bling" details :hip:
    Hmm... Should I mod also the subwoofer :) Nahh! I wont :yawn:

    i was looking at your diagram, and i've realized a problem. you have a 47 ohm resistor in front of 8 leds. running off 5 volts, you would need a 12 ohm, .5 watt resistor.

    E = I * R
    1.8 = .16 * R (if each led draws 20mA)
    R = 11.25 ohms next standard resistor = 12 ohms
    P = I * E
    P = .16 * 1.8
    P = .288 watts next standard value = .5 watts

    at 30mA per led,
    E = I * R
    1.8 = .24 * R (if each led draws 20mA)
    R = 7.5 ohms next standard resistor = 8.2 ohms(if i remember off the top of my head)
    P = I * E
    P = .24 * 1.8
    P = .432 watts next standard value = .5 watts

    so, unless i'm seeing this completely wrong, and i like to think that i'm not, then the resistor you chose is MUCH too big. please correct me if i am wrong

    There's no actually 8 leds. There's only 2 of them becouce the I've split the wires to go only 2 leds so I would need that 47ohm resistor.

    ok. but if you're going to have 4 sets of leds like that, then you should still use the sizes i posted. if you're going to only use two per resistor, then yes, 47 ohm resisotor will be the one.

    I thought that if I connect the wires like this it would be more secure.

    [IMG]

    edit. wups :D The longer lead is (+) and the shorter one is (-). Little misstake.

    It doesn't see in the pic, but every led has it own resistor (100ohm).
    I woun't be able to do the wireing tomorrow (actually today) because shops are closed and can't buy the new 8 resistors :grr:

    And! I did something today. I drilled all the holes to the speakers for wireing.
