Why wouldn't anyone question a PC hanging on a window? ;)

On a more serious note: great video, guys. Also nice to see the real face behind the monkey mask. Actually, nothing like I had imagined Cheapskate to look like IRL (not that I spent much time imagining what the real Cheaps might look like).

Will the motherboard just hang there in the open, or will it be covered somehow?

@DeadP1xels, pack your suitcase, it gets even worse...well, ridiculous would be better description ..lol

@k.3nny, during box opening quick tip, you can see it's clear acrylic cover leaning on the wall... it comes off for special occasions :D

@nutman, cheaps is devising a cool solution for that!

@Dragonite, The DELL was stuck on the shop window in September and still there. It's grown into something bigger....:worried:

Great video. Now at least I understand what the deal is with the countersunk screw pic.

But yeah, what a tease... I wanna see some milling-action! I usually only work in the smaller department of the acryllic sizes! :)

You should do a segment on how to remove Dells from window glass now. At least do a segment on removing tape residue.
Be careful. It might involve breaking the window.

...And you didn't answer my last question. That means the material died and became a mountain of plastic fluff. :waah: Should be spectacular to watch at least...

    Back to my mistake diary.
This was my setup for the first attempt to tap the waterblock top. I have a case of sockets that are all the same height across the top row. I've used them in the past to hold the work level in the vise. I did not realize I had the wrong set here, and didn't bother to check...
I noticed while tapping the first hole, though! This one went in the reject pile. The second top I made crashed during the cut, and I lost the zero point.
Both parts were salvageable, because I needed to make some spacer plates for the motherboard cover.
More screw-ups as I remember them...

Well, I'll be keeping an eye on this one. Awesome design but the casts definitely add a lot.

I almost feel cheated by the Cheapskate revelation though. Shouldn't he look more ape like or ludicrously awesome?

When you're tapping acrylic, you should try to not hold it by the sides. It bends no matter how little pressure you apply to it. Try to clamp it from the top as well so it stays flat. I noticed that those barbs are coming out crooked.

    do you really think so?

I am pretty sure that's the reason he posted the pic, to show us what he messed up. The guy is phenomenal at scratch builds, he wouldn't let something like that slide on his own case, let alone on something being used for someone elses project.

Well, guys. I'm sure that Cheaps just wanted to show some of his mistakes. Adds a bit of fun to a build - also encourages others to have a go at it, saying that even the good ones do fail, so don't you worry about failing.

Still, nice advice from Achron there.

EDIT: Hey, Cheaps - why don't you just bolt the top to a flat piece of wood, instead of clamping it on the sides?
