I knew that was going to happen, I am/was way to tired to change it . Oh well, what ya going to do? lol.
Well Bill, you definitely have my vote for MOTM. It was between you and that yellow cybertron project. And after checking out all these updates you definitely have it. You cheated though. Your using my favorite color.
ROFL @ stonesurd's sig and Thank you for the nomination guys! I've been searching around the workshop for any 3/16" Transparent Blur acrylic pieces I have.. "I blame it on cheaps!" It was his suggestion of inserting the acrylic into the front design, altho I like idea of doing just the fractal portion, not the letters. I'm mounting round modders mesh behind the text, including the side panel for more ventilation.
You know what I just thought of? (based on your mod and several others) Bit-tech should host a sub-competition: Mid-tower Case Mod of the Month/Year. The reason I say this is because when someone builds something like Dreadnought it is completely different from say my project or yours. (Although yours is much more detailed and drastic) IMHO we just can't compete with a scratch-built-hand-painted-Warhammer-robot themed project. It is almost a separate category. Just my opinion though which is worth 2 cents. Anyway, to keep with the thread, your project is looking awesome. Can't wait to see what happens with the front.
The mesh sounds like a good idea Bill, although the plexi inserts did sound awesome. Will you be painting the mesh?
@chrisc1277, Thank you for tuning in and commenting. @ModaRobby, Thank you, and Categories is something I've suggested in the past. @The boy 4rm oz, Yes, and I did a 360 and decided the front logo would serve the system better as a cooling vent. This modified Scythe 5.25 Kama Bay 120mm fan unit will mount behind the logo. I've been juggling between this project and others, which hopefully will explain the small updates.
Ok cheapsy I'm juggling between this and other projects, so only a tiny update. This project was a good excuse to use what remained of my Blue Anodized rivets from DragonModz. Unfortunately they stopped offering anodized rivets years ago. I asked the owner last week if he had any left in stock, they're all gone folks If anyone is looking for Copper or Black 1/8” diameter size Pop rivets.
Im afraid im going to have to confiscate that case it is way too awesome for normal society all that aluminium pr0n could cause a mexican nerdgasm across bit-tech. Don't worry i'll take care of it for you In all seriousness though i wish nzxt sold them with that front bezel and that colour
Yea, the same way we wish manufacturers would all use black colour PCB's and that PSU manufacturers learned how to sleeve cables But then, what fun would there be in that
Thanks for tuning in everyone! I hope I can get some time on Father's Day to make more progress Agreed! altho Corsair does a fine job sleeving (Black) on their HX series.
Hahaha, wondered where that quote came from . From now on I'm going to vote for each category unofficially , like pre-made modded cases, scratch cases, pre-made cases with heavy cnc, scratch cases with heavy cnc, but still give an officail vote because they all rock very very much but are very different methods, maybe if everyone did that bit-tech might do something , even if they did it for the different forms each month so they could keep the prize system as it is. Now. Nice case from NZXT, sweet hardware, perfect photography, 1/4" sheet aluminium shaaawing-ness , would cost heaps from my supplier but must be awesome being able to work so cleanly with this, when it got to the colour choice, I liked teal the most, but the cobalt does look saaaweet , close colour to my latest scratch . When I got up to the part with the installed blue pieces, I drooled on my keyboard lol , just looks so perfect. OMG, those blue anodized rivets, me really wants some, very tempted to get some & then I seen they don't do them anymore , ah well black rivets look good too hehe . By the way Bill, I picked up many tips from your youtube vids, particulary how to use a dremel correctly back when I started doing simple blow holes thank you m8 & I have enjoyed watching all your vids, some great tips & so many awesome mods, mod on dude .
