Thank you! My projects will no longer be eligible, because I'm bit-tech's new MOTM Sponsor http://www.bit-tech.net/modding/mod-of-the-month/2010/07/03/mod-of-the-month-june-2010/1
Corsair's H50 cpu cooler isn't escaping modification either... so how about a Billet cap?... I also painted the frame of the radiator Aluminum Silver... I'll be painting the cylindrical housing as well.. I'm pondering ideas for covering or replacing the water lines..
@ stonesurd, I hear ya! and imagine that on another one in the future @ craigbru, Thanks dude!.... (btw: can't wait to show the NZXT Phantom when it's done) @ cheapskate, this cap actually reminded me of you. "This is something I could see cheaps doin" I was thinking about breaking the sealed lines on the H50 and replace the tubing, but I'm having fun thinking about ways to mod it "as is"
Hey Bill are we allowed a sneak peak at your mill? I have a strange attraction to CNC's that I can't logically explain.
No offer of dinner with a Romantic movie first?!..... (hint: vertical HAAS 5 axis) Making a fan extension doesn't have to be boring.. Resistance to this modification is futile... I see that you're frightened... Just close your eyes ...this will only take a few seconds... You won't feel any more pain.. That one was easy... Quickly! perform the separation They have fused us, we are one.
What made you choose the corsair H50 over the CoolIt ECO Bill?? You could use shower hose to cover the stock hoses on that cooler, usualy you can cut off the 2 ends and it will pull apart into like a spiral, then you can wrap it around and click it all back together oh and have it that cool blue colour.. maybe? awesome so far!!
@ Jolly-Swagman, Thanks for tuning IN and commenting! @StEm, I've heard only good things about it and Corsair was gracious enough to Sponsor another project and I just wanted to return the favor. I've actually got some wire loom coming that is supposedly anodized Blue.. will post pics when it does @Waynio, being silly and let your imagination runaway now and then is good for the soul. Thanks for noticing and commenting @Djayness. I hear the beaches are awesome in Oz, How about a walk down the beach after the Movie?.... j/k So, I pulled out a couple of big guns... 2, 120mm x 38mm NMB-MATs for the front and rear fans. (formally Panaflo L1A) I dismantled and painted them Aluminum Silver over the weekend. These have the tiny retaining clips that like to fly across the room when you pop them off.. be warned, and remove them in an isolated area. B4 & AFT I also painted and mounted the UN Designs SSD bracket... with 3/4" aluminum spacer and 6/32 Blue Anodized Button Head screws I had stashed away
How would you go about changing the tubing on that H50, if you were going to go down that route? I'm interested because if I someday get one, then I'll try it myself.
