Well it didnt turn out like I wanted, but here goes.

I always see mods on the internet where ppl build an expansion for theyre case to fit theyre watercooling, or build external casing for it. This is where my idea started.

My idea is to start of with a simpel basic case that has room for the basic components of a computer. It could also house a watercooling setup, but that would be kinda cramped. The standard case has room for 6 dvd drives or a removable hd rack.

The case consists of a frame with aluminium plating on it.The front is a sandwich of aluminum and a material of choice (plexiglas, mesh..) The little cover can have several functions. It could be a baybus, lcd cover, reservoir, almost anythyou could think of.
The motherboard tray is removable and can be reversed for atx and btx positioning

To make more room for watercooling or extra drive space, one could buy an upgrade for the standard case. This consists of a smaller version of the case or one of the same size. There are endless combinations and the case can become as big as you want to. The seperate cases are connected with thumbscrews and cover plates on the front.

The basic case with smal extension is big enough for a 2x120mm radiator or 2 120mm radiators, 2 pumps and 2 radiators for seperate loops for gpu and cpu.

With all of this I wanted buyers to be able to create theyre own unique case with all the things in it they want, without having to construct a seperate casing that looks nothing like theyre own case.

I might enter with another case to if i have time left.

    New deadline Just announced!!

Just announced...there is a new deadline for entry submittal. The new deadline is Feb. 25th. All submissions must be made by 5pm Central Standard Time. A poll will be posted in each of the participating forums on the 26th witht he top 10 submitted designs for the users to vote on their favorite picks.

The decision to move the initial deadline back is based on a number of participants with nearly finished work done on their design needed a little more time.

    Best of luck to all!

*few* that's a relief. I was kinda planning to work through the night. I guess with three extra days I won't have to and I could make a more detailed design.

Ive actually been toying with an absolutely GIGANTIC case design of my own for awhile, going so far as to detail all the metal folds, screw holes, etc, long before I learned of this contest; I think Ill put it up as it is, so you can all see it; internally, its basically complete, I just need to finish the exterior :)

Seeing someone had to do fancy renders *glares at a certain someone* i decided to upgrade from the craptastic sketchup renders to some 3dsmax renders.

    Hope you like.

All comments and critiques are welcome. Should have the night time renders with all the led wonderfulness if i can get it to render correctly.

    Plus another design for submission.

    Anyway time for sleep :D

Just note that the case will have feet that i will do later tonight so the case wont be flush with the floor, it will be raised for air to be sucked up through.

    And heres my second piece.

Drummed it up in an hour so i know theres some probs with it... such as the curve of the window not being the same curve as the panel.

And also the fact it looks like a chocolate orange at the moment.

But its just a little pic for you guys to have a look.

    Case Specifications:
    MATX Mobo
    ATX Psu
    Dual 120mm rad intake (front)
    dual 80mm exhaust (back)
    1 cd drive
Will have a fan controller and a lcd matrix besides and underneath the cd drive.
Hdds.. well it can have roughly 8 if you have no pump but i would say about 4 if you do have a pump.

Will try and work on it tonight but will be out most of the night for a nice long well earned drink :D

Feedback is always lovely, but do make it constructive.
