Is it possible to modd it in a bok with sound proof meterial, or will the pump over heat or will the water cool it down?
Been thinking about sticking my 1250 in a box with sound proofing and keeping an eye on the temps - I'll get back to you if it's any good
Yeah do that. Anyone else that have any problems with Eheim and sound? Anyone tried to moddit in a soundproof box? Does Eheim 1250 make more sound than eheim 1048?
i think that to a point the noise output of the pump will depend on how hard you have it working... i.e. if u have it cooling cpu, chipset, gpu, and passing thru a big-ass rad and a rez... then u can imagine how hard it is working to push water around thru everything... where as if its only cooling cpu and going thru 120mm rad, rez there is generally less 'stress' on the pump to push the water thru so many parts...
SO when I will have a full set with cpu, ND GPU etc and a dobble 120 mm rad. Would it then be better to buy a 1250 Eheim pump instead of 1048?? Can u controll the speed of the pumps?
If you immerse your pump (put it in your res) you willl be able to put sound deadning material. As for the pump noise depending on how much stuff you have in you loop I don't think it's true.
If you're gonna have alot of stuff in there, I'd go for the 1250. That's why I went that route - got water cooled PSU, NB, 2 hard disks - res and big rad (not that it's all installed yet... but who's checking, the PSU will never arrive). The only thing was that I'm running out of space and the damn 1250's biggggg don't www.overclockers.co.uk sell the vapochill watercooling stuff?
