Okay so i've been offered a Tagan BZ series 1100watt edition used that is one year old. The guys askin £100 for it. I don't know about the warranty - I'll have to ask him The psu is shown here - http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Home/P...-BZ-Piperock-1100W-TG-1100-BZ?source=googleps Is it a good psu? I need one thats sli-compatable for dual gtx 460's. Thanks all, Blizz
You don't need such a high wattage for 2 * GTX 460 A good 650W would be plenty. I would Go for one of these: Antec TruePower New Modular 650W £77 Corsair TX 650W £81 XFX 650W XXX Edition Modular £88 The first of these would get my money. Save £20 and get a warranty. Hope this is of some use. Can't comment usefully on the PSU you mentioned as I don't even bother reading the reviews for the 850W plus PSUs as they are just for freaks who want to do quad SLI or similar No offence meant to any freaks out there. I know there are plenty
To save me typing, I agree with this ^. Very valid points, save the cash and get a new one with a warranty, you don't need 850w.
I'd have to agree having recently put together a dual 460GTX system after having lashed out for an 850W XFX Black Edition (what a sucker...). I have yet to see power usage exceed 450W (including 10W for the speakers and 75W for the monitor) though I've not done any overclocking yet. Unless you're planning getting a Tri/Quad-SLI/Crossfire central heating system in the near future....
Tagan ? No Thanks. Moreover 1100w is absolutely and unnecessarily Overkill. When I say overkill I mean Seriously OVERKILL.
Okay - thanks for the help guys So the antec one is definately the one to go for? And I will be able to do sli? I may actually wait until the release of the ati 6000 series before getting a new card
The XFX 650W PSU is £70 on ebuyer. My money is on the Tagan being a good PSU, likely built by Topower. Others in the series have reviewed well. But only £30 off for a used PSU is not good. I think it probably would be a good deal at £80. Also don't get a PSU until you know what graphics card(s) it's got to power.
