    Hey,

Now that Im in a student house and I cabled it all, and have a nice switch etc etc, I was thinking of running FTPds on all the PCs to make it easier to share files. However I have been running GuildFTPd for ages, and although good, does not really work that well (i have found) when trying to get the best speeds from it, can any one else recommend a good server to try?

    Another vote for filezilla.

I've never had any real speed issues, other than what you normally run into with windows FTP.

Wait, you mean FTPd as in a Daemon? Just used shared folders.

With filezilla how can you have more than one home DIR? or , how do you get more than one folder to show up when you list /

eg if i want to share

    c:\work
    d:\temp-work

if i set c:\work as home, i cant see d:\temp-work.

Do i have to create another folder and have shortcuts to these folders in it or what?

That's the way I do it (shortcuts in a home dir) with BulletProof (my vote, btw). Does the job.
