    What were your thoughts?

Does anyone else feel like going on a killing spree?

Anyone else ****ed up their chances of getting into the university they wanted? Was anyone taught how to deal with many of the problems in this paper? Or was it just everyone in our college that wasn't?

FFS, I am so angry at OCR right now; this paper was impossibly hard!

Did you bring your paper for us to have a look at? Sounds like a pig of a thing.

There's nothing worse than a horrid exam, you've just got to hope that everyone else did badly and the moderation brings your mark up...

    :(

i thought i did badly in M1 when i took my AS levels. came out really annoyed with myself. didn't finish a single question, completely lost. results day came, and i somehow managed to get 85% ([brag]although compared to the rest of my AS and A2 maths results that was actually the worst grade i got so i guess i did do badly?[/brag]). to this day i have NO idea how or why i was marked so highly. it's happened to me a few times, thought i've done terribly and turned out alright. of course the converse also happens

so anyway what i mean to say: don't stress too much. sometimes you just think you've done awful when in fact what you've put on the paper is somehow what they were looking for.

Yeah, don't worry too much. OCR quite often make a mess of things and they bring everyone's marks up to compensate.

Sounds like my OCR physics AS to be honest - some of the stuff on it we were only taught on a fluke but I guess you've just got to hope for the best and decent grade boundaries, there's nothing that you can do about it now...

Similar thing happened with my A-Level English Language exam. I was shitting it the day before as my performance in the topic had so far been middling and I needed to get a B to go on to study Linguistics. Went in, came out and was sure that I'd ****ed it up. I stayed fairly cool and just resigned myself to the fact that I was going to have to go to my second choice.

Was pretty surprised when it turned out that I only dropped 4 marks out of 100 and got one of the top 5 results in the country, pushing me up to an A! /brag

Keep your chin up and remember that you can always retake (which, balancing out my earlier brag, I actually had to do with General Studies of all things).

Not A-level but I've just done OCR Add Maths which is an external qualification on a similar level to A-Level. It was a bit of a pig of a paper.

Still very impressive Joe and English Literature is probably the hardest thing you can do.

I would have taken the paper out if I could, but I wasn't allowed to bring a paper out of the room, I'll get one next week though hopefully.
I know, I just wish they wouldn't keep the conversion to UMS process so secretive.

I hear ya, my A2 physics mark got ****ed up completely (long story involving everyone being moderated down by half a grade because 3 people's grades were supposedly 4 marks too high).

You can probably tell I'm really annoyed by this though. I really needed ~86% (UMS) on this, and I'll be lucky if I've got 65% of the marks. It doesn't help how stressed I'm feeling about exams, but I'm going to vent some anger in a letter to OCR I reckon. That's why I'm wanting to know if anyone else sat the paper and thought it was ridiculously impossible, or if I've just been failed by my teachers. (Not trying to shift blame here, I can get 90% with little problem in mock tests but every person in my college who took the test had problems). I'll just have to get 100% in Decision Maths 1 now :(.

I took C2 today, as part of AS Maths.

I think I'm going to drop Maths on results day.. >.>

D1 didn't seem to go badly though, and I got an A (just) in C1 :)

Oh God - I hate that different exam boards have exams on different days, I keep worrying that I've missed my exams

It's ridiculous, AS resits cost at least 3x as much as GCSE resits. :( I know people who have spent ~£150 on resits, as some exam boards charge £40 per paper!
Back in the day (last year) I paid £5 to re-enter my (unchanged) coursework. Went up 10 marks :D

They don't - once the results are out, they publish the transform curve on their website...
