well im a little new to wireless, but right now my current set up is my DSL coming out my modem and into a D-link router which feeds my two operating PCs. but now i want to set up a budget wireless for my new Palm and an old IBM 380XD i got. the laptop is mostly going to be used for surfing the net around my house, and my question is what is the best way to connect these ? what is a good budget wireless router and what should i use for the laptop? with a laptop this old is there any specific cards i need to get, or will it work with some of the newer ones ?

    you have two options here:

replace your router with a wirless router (best option)

add an access point to your router

And about the laptop, if it has a PCMCIA slot, then you can add new (current) WiFi cards

I personally use a DI-824 VUP+, it has a integrated 4 port switch, wireless, printserver and VPN capabilities, so it will probably be an overkill, but I never had any problems with it.
