In Tesco today this young mum is shouting the brat, "Come here, Destiny!"

What's the worst Christian name you know somebody has been saddled with? Or were you yourself a victim of Mum fancying some pop singer or soap star, a Jason or a Kylie? Are you happy with your moniker?

And will the next generation have net nicks like Emzay and Yodasarmpit for first names? :duh:

I'll probabily name my kids (pending) something stupid, like Jean-Luc (Picard) or something else out of Sci-Fi.

I'd never ever give them the 'common' (for lack of a better word) names that are cropping up now.

meh. I'm happy with my name.

Worst I've seen personally is a girl that graduated from high school the same year as me - Lotta Weiner.

    Ouch.

My parents thought of naming my little sister louise, but realised that sending a child out into life with the name "lou" bole wouldn't be too kind. I was working with several family groups over the summer and we had one pair of sisters called paris and destiny... :sigh:

What's wrong with katie, emily, ciara, sarah et al? Not 'boring' as far as I;m concerned. Having said that I think caitlin is a lovely name for a girl. Irish names sound beautiful but considering the trouble some teachers have with aoife, calling someone Siobhan or Caoimhe is making things a touch tricky.

A workmates two kids are called "Paris" and "Desian". I'm fine with unusal names but I can't stand all these "let's call our kids some mindless crap" celb kids.
