Hi people. Edited this thread from a "need a new MB"-thread to a build advice thread. I have decided to replace my aging x3 8650 machine and replace it with a brand-spankingly new 2500k beast. I have the following parts: Phenom X3 8650 Radeon 4850 and a 4870 4 gigs of OCZ Reaper DDR2 RAM Crucial M4 128 gig Samsung F1 Spinpoint 640 gig Corsair CX400 I plan to buy the following: Intel Core i5 2500k Corsair HyperX 2x4gb 1600mhz RAM Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3P And then reuse the SSD, the HDD and maybe the PSU. Now the question is, sell my 4850 and 4870 and 400 watt Corsair PSU and buy a beefier 600 watt PSU along with a GTX 560 Ti Or buy a beefier 650-750w PSU, sell the Corsair, CF the 4850 and 4870 and then sometime later change the CF to a GTX560? The idea of crossfire appeals to me, just because it's CF and that's cool pr definition. Also, I don't game as much as I used to do and I keep wondering whether a GTX560 Ti will be overkill for me. After the novelty of CF wears off I could always drop down to the single 4870. Prices don't really concern me, just recommend what you believe to be the best setup. As for the old setup I do not know whether I would sell it or give it to my parents since my moms computer could use an upgrade.
Why does it have to be atx. The asus gene-z is a good z68 board but matx. The msi gd53-p67a is good aswell and atx but I think it's now EOL.
I would get the msi I mentioned sell the psu and gpu,s and get the 560ti. I dont think you can crossfire the cards you have got. For a 650w psu I can recommend the hx650 as I got one the other day and it's quiet and fully modular.
I won't say "No budget" but it's semi-unlimited. My resolution is 1920x1200. As for graphical power, a 560 Ti will be fine. I won't need to spring for a 570.
Yeah there seems to be some pretty good deals on the 560ti with a few free games atm. Seems like a wise choice.
