My goal is to make a power switch for my gamecube that is wireless, so I can put it in a one of the controllers. Please dont respond to me with " dang, your lazy!" Im not, I just really want to do this. Please, if you respond, respond with help. I appreciate it very much.

So far what I have done it rig the power switch on my cube to the wires that send power to the motor in a rc car. When I have done that, when I press the go button, the gc comes on, but only the fan and lights, as I can only get to 9 volts without fryng the reciever. I have fried two by now.

The gamecube runs on 12 volts DC.

in theory, if I can get 12 volts running through there, then I could start the cube. What I did was rig the wires that led from the batterys to the reciever
to a dc socket, so I could plug in a cord going to my wall, because if I had it running off batterys, as soon as they died, the cube goes off.

My problem is, essentially, finding a reciever (with a remote) and the reciever must be able to have 12 volts run through it. I heard somewhere that a guy did it with a Garage door opener... I havent tried that route yet. Any help on this is appreciated.

Couldn't you hook up a relay to the RC controller to allow it to switch the 12v without coming into contact with it? That way it would be isolated from the 12v and wouldn't fry (you'd need some other power source for the relay though).

    Dang, you're lazy! :hehe:

A few people here have gutted a wireless doorbell to get a relatively cheap bush-button-operated switcher. I don't know what you get in the usual package, anybody?

Here's an article on using a remote doorbell to start a PC. Some of it isn't relevant but there are parts on using the relays and modifying the remote which could be helpful to you.

Ok, I managed to do it with help from a friend, using an RC car and a 9v DC Relay..... works great!
