Hi there. I am new here but I wanted to share my story. So March this year I built my first PC. I did very minimal research and just went and brought everything.... And I ended up with a broken mess. That barley ever works, Not even the people I got the parts from will touch it. So before you build, please look up everything and search for any problems. Or you might end up like me with horrendous build. Thanks.
Quoi? Must have put the Flux Capacitor in the wrong compartment then tried to run it off beer before first trying a banana. Rookie error
Could this be a case of always R.T.M. and understand what it is saying. Sent on my CM10 JB powered i9100 by TapaTalk 2
Rage over case door that wont come off, followed by dremelling door off then finding its held on by thumbscrews?
Explain the problem - we might be able to help! Unless of course you bought an AMD FX chip, a Z77 motherboard and a Quadro graphics chip.. Then there's not much we can do.
In all fairness, if the problem was compatible parts, the rule I always use is RING UP THE SUPPLIER and ask them. This way when something doesn't fit/work, you at least have some come-back. Otherwise, you're absolutely right. research pays dividends. Often you're best publishing your intentions somewhere like here, JUST IN CASE there is a better/cheaper way of achieving the same results. Many heads (and eyes) scouring the internet are better than one....
I suspect a troll also. No useful advice and no questions, just spreading FUD about self-building. Sent from my HTC Wildfire using Tapatalk 2
So many things wrong with the post, he can't rma the parts why? Poor research and it "barley" works? It would either work or not work. I call BS.
As you said. You did minimal research. It is your fault you have a broken mess, because you did minimal research. It is also not advisable to cross the road without doing research into how to do so safely. Operating a hair dryer also requires some fundamental rules to be adhered to. What made you think building a highly complex and sensitive piece of computing equipment exempted you from doing more than minimal research? Surely something complex like this requires some extensive research? The first time I ever built a PC I was reading everything I could find for weeks before so much as think about buying anything. 1 post only... looks like you're pi$$ed off you built a badly researched mess.. but that's no reason to blast in without saying hello and trying to scare everyone.
It all depends on where you brought the components from really. If you brought them from a decent supplier, they would probably have had no problem answering a few questions on the phone for you. After all, you just brought (probably) several hundred pounds/dollars/euros worth of computer hardware off them. Yeah, like it needs to be said again Worst. Post. Ever.
Thank you for your post. I shall never again build my own PC, as after hearing your horror story, I now quake with fear every time I see a CPU. I will now only ever buy my computers from PCWorld where I know quality is guaranteed. Sent from the Starship Enterprise
